“ In memory of a leaf”
This leaf painting, “In Memory of a leaf” represents a leaf that I saw on the ground, at the Botanical Gardens in Bermuda. The crusty leaf was weathered, yet still strikingly beautiful- so much so, that its beauty took my breath away.
This piece reflects on beauty found in decay. The leaf’s vibrant magenta upper half contrasts with the bronze-toned base, resting gently on a silvery, textured background. The image captures a fleeting moment of wonder and reverence, reminding us of nature’s grace and the sacredness in everyday encounters. It is a visual prayer—an ode to impermanence and gratitude.
For me, it was also a wonderful reminder of God's steadfast love and mercy.
I am so grateful for these unexpected gifts.
